DOUGLAS, Ga. – Gordon State's baseball team saw its win streak snapped at five games as South Georgia State College won 7-0 in the second game of Tuesday's Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) doubleheader after the Highlanders had secured an 8-3 win in the opener.

GSC scored twice in the third and fifth innings along with one run in the seventh before adding three insurance runs in the top of the ninth to eventually get the five-run win.

GSC produced just six hits, but walked eight times and took advantage of four SGSC errors to generate enough offense.

Cole Phillips (Trion, Ga. / Trion HS) was 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI, four runs and three walks.

Trey Felt (Lawrenceville, Ga. / Prince Avenue Christian) got the win with seven strong innings -- allowing one earned run on seven hits while striking out five and walking one.

In the second game, SGSC (19-4 overall, 2-2 GCAA) turned to pitcher Austyn Wright and the left-hander shut down the GSC bats on a one-hitter while striking out 12 and walking four in the complete-game seven-inning victory.

Meanwhile, the SGSC offense came alive early with four runs in the first inning and three more in the second to build the seven-run advantage, which proved to be plenty for Wright as he cruised through the Highlanders' lineup.

A Noah Dawkins's (Marietta, Ga. / Kell HS) double was all GSC could get off Wright.

GSC (12-9, 3-1) is on the road Saturday at Andrew College for a 1 p.m. ET GCAA doubleheader.
