CUTHBERT, Ga. – Gordon State dropped a doubleheader to Andrew College in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) baseball action here on Saturday afternoon as the Tigers won 7-6 and 1-0.

Game one was a back-and-forth contest with Andrew getting the eventual winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

GSC led 5-0 after four innings, but Andrew struck for four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to tie the game at 6-6.

GSC pounded out 13 hits and walked eight times, but couldn't expand on the early lead and eventually watched Andrew rally for the victory.

Jamel Rookard (Winston, Ga. / Chapel Hill HS), Blaze O'Saben (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier HS), Cole Phillips (Trion, Ga. / Trion HS), Ethan Scott (Augusta, Ga. / Aquinas HS) and Carson Renz (Dacula, Ga. / Mill Creek HS) each had two hits in the contest with Renz driving in three of the GSC runs.

Andrew took the win in the nightcap after the game was called in the third inning due to an ejection involving the GSC squad.

GSC is now 12-11 overall and 3-3 in the GCAA while Andrew improved to 18-11-1 and 3-3.
