CUTHBERT, Ga. – Gordon State extended its winning streak to five games as the Highlanders took a doubleheader from Andrew College by 7-6, 13-5 scores here Tuesday afternoon in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) baseball action.

But the story of the afternoon was GSC's 13-run sixth inning in the second game of the twin bill to erase a 3-0 deficit and complete the sweep over the Tigers (27-17-1 overall, 12-8 GCAA).

Back-to-back-to-back home runs from Cole Phillips (Trion, Ga. / Trion HS), Ethan Scott (Augusta, Ga. / Aquinas HS) and Derek Wylie (Warner Robins, Ga. / Veterans HS) fueled the 13-run outburst for the Highlanders (24-15, 13-7).

Cole Stanford (Ellerslie, Ga. / Harris Co. HS), Phillips and Scott each had two hits in the game while Phillips and Blaze O'Saben (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier HS) had two RBI apiece.

Down 6-4 after seven innings in the opener, GSC rallied with two runs in the eighth and took the lead for good with a run in the top of the ninth to get the win.

O'Saben and Phillips homered for GSC and each player had three hits to lead the offense.

Phillips added two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored to his totals while Sam Kuchinski (Powder Springs, Ga. / Harrison HS) had a pair of doubles during his 2-for-5 day at the plate that produced a run and an RBI.

Jamel Rookard (Winston, Ga. / Chapel Hill HS), Stanford and Wylie each had two hits in GSC's 16-hit attack.

Preston Felt (Buford, Ga. / Flowery Branch HS) came on to work the bottom of the ninth and allowed just one hit to preserve the victory.
