Highlanders Complete Sweep Of Tigers With 72-64 Road Win

GRIFFIN, Ga. – Varun Danak continued his strong interior play with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds as Gordon State College completed a two-game sweep of Southern Crescent Technical College with a 72-64 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association win here Tuesday.

GSC (2-2 overall, 2-2 GCAA) built a 37-32 halftime lead and eventually finished off the eight-point win as the Highlanders won their second game in a row over SCTC.

GSC edged SCTC 71-70 on February 13 in Barnesville.

Danak (Snellville, Ga. / Brookwood HS) added four assists to his offensive totals to lead the GSC offense.

JahNile Hill (Manchester, Ga. / Manchester HS) also found double-digits with 17 points to go along with a team-high five assists.

Trenton Gordon (Duluth, Ga. / Duluth HS) added 12 points for the Highlanders.

Marquavius Willingham led SCTC (3-4, 0-4) with 15 points and nine rebounds.

GSC is on the road again Thursday as the Highlanders play at East Georgia State College (3-6, 0-4) in a 7:30 p.m. contest in Swainsboro.
