GSC Men's Basketball Drops 77-71 Decision At CGTC

MACON, Ga. – Despite placing four players in double-figures in scoring, Gordon State dropped a 77-71 decision at Central Georgia Technical College in a Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association men's basketball game here Tuesday night.

CGTC took a 35-30 lead into the locker rooms at halftime and eventually finished off the six-point win by outscoring GSC 42-41 in the second half.

JahNile Hill (Manchester, Ga. / Manchester HS) had 13 points to lead the way for GSC, which falls to 3-4 overall and 3-4 in the GCAA.

Trenton Gordon (Duluth, Ga. / Duluth HS) had 11 points and six rebounds while Destin Jenkins (Tyrone, Ga. / Sandy Creek HS) added 11 points and five rebounds for the Highlanders.

Varun Danak (Snellville, Ga. / Brookwood HS) also scored in double-figures with 10 points and had a team-high eight rebounds for GSC.

GSC managed to connect on just 13 of 27 free throws in the game as the Highlanders lost for the third time this season by six points or less, including two games by one point.

Almamy Drame led CGTC (6-4, 2-4) with 18 points.

GSC is back home on Thursday as CGTC comes to Barnesville for a 7 p.m. contest. Only a limited number of GSC students will be permitted to attend and there is no general admission for spectators.
