GSC Men's Basketball Falls At Andrew 83-79

CUTHBERT, Ga. – Andrew College overcame a five-point halftime deficit and rallied to knock off Gordon State 83-79 in a Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) men's basketball game here Tuesday night.

GSC (4-6 overall, 4-6 GCAA) led 43-38 at intermission, but Andrew outscored the Highlanders 45-36 in the second half to take the four-point victory – the second for the Tigers after their 80-68 win last Saturday in Barnesville.

Varun Danak scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds while Destin Jenkins (Tyrone, Ga. / Sandy Creek HS) and DeAndre Hayes (Durham, N.C. / Mt. Zion Christian Academy) each had 11 points for GSC.

Johntovious Chester led Andrew (4-7, 2-6) with 20 points as the Tigers put four players in double-figures and shot 58.8 percent from the field.

GSC is on the road again Thursday as the Highlanders travel to Georgia Highlands College for a GCAA contest.
