GSC Softball Drops Three Games in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Gordon State's softball team found the competition to be tough here Saturday afternoon as the Highlanders fell to No. 1-ranked Florida Southwestern State College 5-2, No. 2 College of Central Florida 14-3 and No. 12 Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (Ala.) 5-1.

GSC (7-8) and FSSC were tied at 2-2 after five innings, but the Bucs struck for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the three-run win.

GSC managed just four hits with Breanna Lee (Concord, Ga. / Pike Co. HS) getting one of those hits with a double and also had an RBI.

In the second game of the day, the College of Central Florida broke open a close game with seven runs in the top of the fifth inning to win going away.

Lee led the way again for GSC with a hit and two RBI.

The final game of the afternoon saw GSC fall behind early against Wallace State C.C.-Hanceville as the Lions scored three runs in the first inning and eventually finished off the four-run win.
