Odom, Barefield Claim GCAA Softball Weekly Honors

BARNESVILLE, Ga. – Gordon State Softball claimed both individual honors for the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) as Bailey Odom secured Pitcher-of-the-Week and Catherine Barefield was named Player-of-the-Week for games played March 22-28.

Odom (Danville, Ga. / Bleckley Co. HS) went 2-0 in 12 innings in the circle with no runs, seven strikeouts and four walks as GSC extended its winning streak to 10 games. The left-hander is now 8-0 with one save on the season in 13 appearances.

Barefield (Cataula, Ga. / Harris Co. HS) batted .600 with an on-base percentage of .692 while connecting for two homers, three doubles and driving in eight runs for the Highlanders. In 23 games played, the shortstop/third baseman is batting .407 with eight home runs and 29 RBI.
