DEMOREST, GA – Sophomore Cayla Bishop has notched yet another GCAA Softball Player of the Week honor based upon her performance last week versus Chattahoochee Valley and Georgia Highlands, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.  This is the fourth Player of the Week honor for the second baseman this season.  

In four games, Bishop hit .625 with 4 homeruns, a double, 15 RBI's and 10 runs scored.  She also broke the single season Gordon State College homerun record during her first at bat last Wednesday vs. CVCC.  

The Highlanders finished second overall in the GCAA regular season and will face East Georgia State on Thursday in the first round of the NJCAA Region XVII tournament.  The winner of the four team regional will advance to the NJCAA Division I National Championship in Yuma, AZ later this month.
