Hartwick, Munoz sweep GCAA Player of the Week Honors

DEMOREST, GA.  Bring out the brooms! The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its Players of the Week on Monday. Gordon State swept the honors as Kellyn Hartwick brought home the Player of the Week award and Katelyn Munoz was tabbed as pitcher of the week.

Hartwick had arguably one of the most impressive offensive days in Highlander softball history.  In the two games against South Georgia State, she was 4 for 7 at the plate with a double and 3 homeruns, two of which were grand slams.  She racked up 10 RBI's on the day and was perfect in the field, which included two key double plays.

Munoz was dealing from the circle as well as she allowed just 1 earned run while striking out 8 of the Hawks in 5 innings of work.  This is Katelyn's second GCAA Pitcher of the Week honor this season.

The Highlanders go on the road Tuesday to face Georgia Highlands College at Stars Field in Cartersville.  Game time is set for 2:00 PM.
