OXFORD, AL – The Gordon State College softball team saw its season come to an end on Thursday as the Highlanders were eliminated by Seminole State (Oklahoma) at the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Softball World Series at Choccolocco Park.

Battling out of the consolation bracket following Tuesday's 3-1 loss to #1 Odessa College, the Highlanders bounced back and defeated #9 College of Southern Idaho on Wednesday by a score of 3-2.  This was the first win for Region 17 teams at the World Series in 2014.  Gordon State finished its national tournament run with ninth-place finish, tied for the program's best finish since 2012.
