MILLEDGEVILLE,  Ga. -- Gordon State fell by a score of 3-0 to Georgia Military College on the road in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) women's soccer action Wednesday night.

While the Highlanders began the game brightly by creating multiple scoring opportunities, they were ultimately unable to capitalize on them.

After conceding an unassisted first-half goal in the 33rd minute by Giselle Funes, GSC trailed 1-0 at the break.

During the second half, the Highlanders allowed two more goals by GMC (4-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 GCAA)-- an unassisted goal by Madison Nimmons in the 62nd minute and Funes's second unassisted goal in the 87th minute.

GSC managed just five shots -- none on goal -- during the match.

With its first road loss of the season, GSC drops to 5-3 overall and 4-3 in GCAA play.

GSC will close out the 2021 spring regular season when the Highlanders travel to Tifton to face Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Saturday May 8 at 4 p.m. ET.
