Griffin, GA - Gordon State Soccer stepped out of Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) play Saturday afternoon by hosting Polk State College at Wyomia Tyus Park.

The Eagles put the pressure on the Highlanders in the early stages of the match culminating in the opening goal in the 26th minute.  As the Highlanders grew into the game the two sides battled to the end of the first half with a 1-0 Polk State lead.

GSC struck quickly in the second half when sophomore Stephanie Hahn (Dallas, GA / Paulding County HS) pierced the Eagles backline with a ball that sophomore Madison Schmucker (Cape Coral, FL / Ida S Baker HS) ran onto, held off her defender, and placed the ball past the goalkeeper to even the score in the 51st minute.
