Tifton, GA - Gordon State Soccer travelled south to defeat Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) for the second time in eight days.

GSC wasted little time in demonstrating their superiority over the Fillies. In just the third minute of the match, sophomore Sara Schultz (Villa Rica/Alexander HS) dropped a ball back to freshman Chelsie Moore (Williamson, GA / Pike County HS) who's lofted shot ricocheted off the goalpost and nestled in the net.

Just four minutes later, Moore completed her brace when she volleyed home a corner kick crossed in by sophomore Lourdes Thomkins (Stephens, GA / Oglethorpe County HS).

The Highlanders wrapped up the victory in the 31st minute when Thomkins provided another cross that freshman Emily Romero (Acworth, GA / Harrison HS) headed home for the 3-0 win.

For the eighth time this season the Highlanders held their opponents scoreless, and for the second consecutive match they did not allow a shot to be taken against them. The Highlander's three goalkeepers all contributed to the shut-out. Becca Doyle (Acworth, GA Harrison HS) started the game, Cassidy Abbott (Senoia, GA / East Coweta HS) finished the game off, while Mallory McCarthney (Griffin, GA / Spalding HS) played the middle third.

While the shutout was a result of the team's collective efforts, the back line of Adrianna Duque (Davie, FL / Archbishop McCarthy HS), Aniah Rasool (Ruskin, FL / Lennard HS), and Chelsie Moore (Williamson, GA / Pike County HS) turned away all of the attacks of the Fillies.

With the victory GSC holds an overall record of 7-3-2 and a Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association mark of 4-1-1. The Highlanders will continue GCAA play Tuesday, Oct. 19th when they travel to Milledgeville to play Georgia Military College at 7:00 PM.
