Milledgeville, GA - Gordon State Soccer travelled to Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association foe Georgia Military College Tuesday night for their penultimate match of the regular season.

From the opening whistle the Highlanders played with a relentless effort that made life difficult on the Bulldogs. While in possession of the ball, the Highlanders were creative and looked to break open GMC's stingy defense. When GSC lost possession, their dogged determination created a multitude of turnovers.

The lone goal on the night came when freshman Chelsie Moore (Williamson, GA / Pike County HS) dropped a long ball over the top of the Bulldogs defense in the 70th minute. Fellow freshman Gabby Cruzado (Cumming, GA / Forsyth Central HS) broke behind the defense and chipped the goalkeeper from the top of the penalty box

The victory clinched the number two seed in the upcoming GCAA tournament for GSC. The Highlanders will host GMC in the conference semi-final with a date in the GCAA championship on the line. Before that match however, the Highlanders travel to Cuthbert, GA for their final match of the regular season. GSC, 8-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play, will play Andrew College Sunday Oct. 24 at 2:00.
