Highlanders Optimistic About Season
The Gordon State College men's basketball team are excited about the upcoming season. The Highlanders return last year's leading scoring Derek St. Hilaire, national and region 17 three point field goal leader Paul Miller, and team leading shot blocker Johvon Dunham.
GSC also had a solid recruiting class to support returning sophomores. Kevon Tucker a 6'4" shooting guard who transferred in from Wofford College, AJ Cheeseman 6'8" transfer from University of New Orleans leading the way. In addition, the Highlanders signed Oronte' Anderson a point guard and Xavier Jones a power forward both from Savannah, Ga. To round out the recruiting class Coach Bruce Capers added Kai Lambert from Collins Hills High School, Seth Brown-Carter a 6'4" athletic wing from Henry County, and 6'6" guard Cornellius Reynolds from Daytona Beach, Florida.
According to Coach Capers "We have added some experience along with speed and athleticism to support our returning player. The Highlander Nation can expect an exciting up tempo style of play from this team.
