The Lady Highlanders are now 2-0 on the season as they pull out another win in a 7-0 GCAA win at South Georgia State College. The Highlanders took an early lead in the third minute of the game as Skylar Bertram scored, assisted by Beatriz Ramos. Ten minutes later, Bertram netted again with an assist from Jordan White. In the 33rd minute, Bertram finished off her hat trick assisted by Ashlyn Halseth and the Highlanders took a 3-0 lead into halftime. 

 

The Highlanders put the game away early in the second half when White scored off an assist by Kaitlyn O'Connor. Halseth followed by scoring two consecutive goals assisted by Courtney Hahn and Ramos. Sydney Stephens rounded out the scoring as she scored her first collegiate goal assisted by Michayla Barnes.

 

Defensively, Isabelle Vazquez, Brittany Colangelo, Jordynne Godsey, Kaitlyn O'Connor, and Kayleigh McQueen shut down the SGSC offense, allowing only two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Brooke Shavers recorded her second clean sheet of the season.

 

The Highlanders host Andrew College in conference play at home on Tuesday, August 28th at 7:00 pm.
