Second Win Over ABAC

Second Win Over ABAC
Scheduling issues forced Gordon State and ABAC to play back to back games over the week with the Highlanders picking up two wins, Thursday's 8-2 home victory followed by Saturday's 4-0 win on the road.

The Highlanders maintained possession of the game with ABAC reverting to their deep line defending abandoning the high press which saw them give up eight goals the previous game. Gordon State would open the scoring on a nice switch of play which saw Skylar Bertram send Courtney Hahn in behind the ABAC defensive line for the first goal of the game in the 31st minute. Bertram followed her assist with a goal of her own 10 minutes later assisted by Beatriz Ramos which sent the Highlanders into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Highlanders put the game away with two back to back goals in the second half, both scored in the 56th minute of the game. Demi Kiker scored to put the Highlanders up 3-0 with another assist by Bertram followed by the final goal of the game made by Kaitlin O'Connor and assisted by Jordan White.

The Highlander defense had another impressive game, not allowing a shot in goal, and goalkeeper Brooke Shavers used her feet more than her hands as she played as a deep support role in the Highlanders possession play.

The Lady Highlanders play again this Tuesday, October 2nd at home against Georgia Military College at 6:00 pm.

GO HIGHLANDERS!!!
